Dyslexics can have problems with any or all of the following:

SPELLING

READING

WRITING

MATHEMATICS

ORGANISATIONAL SKILLS

AUDIO AND VISUAL MEMORY

SEQUENTIAL MEMORY

LONG AND/OR SHORT TERM MEMORY

REMEMBERING LEFT AND RIGHT

GETTING LETTERS THE WRONG WAY ROUND

e.g b's and d's, was instead of saw

Each dyslexic individual is different but
the things mentioned on the left are the
most common effects of dyslexia

Dyslexia is hereditary so there is usually
more than one person in a family who is
dyslexic.
Boys tend to be affected more often than
girls.

Its estimated that 10% of children are
dyslexic, with 4% having severe dislexia.

Early identification and provision is the
answer for helping a dyslexic child.

Teaching them at an early age how to over
come their problems will save them so
much anguish,frustration and suffering
in their teenage years and adult life.
